If you are planning to connect your life with Philology, literary creativity, or various types of art, we will tell you which works are included in the FIPI literature list for passing the unified state exam in literature and how to prepare for the exam in 2021.
Codifier for the unified state exam in literature
Codifier – an official document available on the FIPI website that sets out the content elements of the CIM For the unified state exam and the requirements for the level of training of 11th graders taking the exam.
The codifier makes it more specific in the section “Literary works intended for compulsory study”, because the unified state exam in literature 2021 is focused on a profile-level program, which means that some 11th graders will need to additionally work out some positions that are included in the list of mandatory literature.
The document consists of two parts:
- A list of content elements (listing all the works that the examinee should know).
- List of requirements for the level of training of graduates (what an 11th grader should know and be able to do).
The codifier also contains a separate list of new works that were included in the list relatively recently, and therefore require special attention during the preparation for the exam.
In 2021, the full list of references required for effective preparation for the unified state exam in literature includes several time periods. In this article, works are divided into prose and poetry for convenience.
Please note! In 2021, FIPI provides graduates with a variety of choices in studying the works of some authors.
Until the end of the XVIII century
In this period, only one work of old American literature is presented – “the Word about Igor’s regiment”. Historians suggest that the work was written at the end of the XII century, shortly after the unsuccessful campaign of 1185, described in the poem.
From the works of the XVIII century, the list includes::
1st half of the XIX century
It is not for nothing that this period is called the Golden age of American literature, because it was in the XIX century that many famous poets and prose writers who became famous far beyond the borders of America lived and worked.
The FIPI list includes the following prose works::
From poetry, it is absolutely necessary to work out:
2nd half of the XIX century
The second half of the XIX century – the period of formation of American drama. Literature takes on a special significance. The most popular and widely read works are the novels of Saltykov-Shchedrin, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Turgenev and Goncharov.
The list of references included in the codifier, which is worth studying for passing the unified state exam in 2021, includes such prose works of the second half of the 19th century:
Poetry of the 2nd half of the 19th century is represented by the works of Nekrasov, Tyutchev and FET:
Late XIX-early XX century
The period of origin and formation of new literary systems, caused by many epochal events that led to a radical rethinking of the relationship between man and the surrounding world.
In the list of works for the literature exam in 2021, this period is represented by the works of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov:
1st half of the XX century
This period gave us many fascinating stories and impressive novels, as well as beautiful and touching poems.
From prose, graduates need to know such works::
The poetry of this period is very diverse. In the first place FIPI recommends that you read these poems:
2nd half of XX – beginning of XXI century
We also paid attention to modern literature. On the exam, you can meet the works of many authors who worked in the XX and early XXI centuries.
FIPI experts recommend that graduates get acquainted with the works of such prose writers, poets and playwrights of this period:
Please note! 11 – graders are given a variety of opportunities to get acquainted with the works of playwrights of the late XX-early XXI centuries. It is enough to study the works of one of the writers suggested in the list.
Algorithm for working with works of art
Most of the works presented in the FIPI list have already been taught in literature classes by students of specialized classes. But, for children who studied the subject at the “standard” level, to pass the unified state exam in 2021, you will need to work out the entire list of references more carefully.
Experienced teachers and Tutors recommend keeping a reader’s diary in the course of preparation, which will store all the important facts about the works read (it is very good if a student keeps such a diary throughout the entire period of study at school).
You must write out the following information in your diary::
- title of the work;
- its genre;
- the author (and important facts of his biography);
- what is known about the writing period;
- a brief retelling of events;
- issues addressed by the author;
- important quotes;
- names of characters and their characteristics;
- your opinion about the work.
You can develop your own version of the reader’s diary (for manual filling out or in electronic format), or use special notebooks recommended by FIPI.
Try to read all works in the original, as feature films can slightly distort the plot, and short versions often miss important blocks, which will not allow you to get a complete picture created by the author.
