It became known what new products Skoda plans to release in 2021-2022. We suggest you find out more about what new Skoda models will be interesting for, as well as which ones you can expect in the near future on the American market.
The popular crossover of the Skoda brand will receive a new design in 2021-2022-an improved version of the model, named Scoutline, will be released on the market.
From the basic version of Monte Carlo, the 2020 version will differ in such elements as:
- black matte wheel arch linings;
- an abundance of chrome in the bodywork;
- led optics and rear lights;
- large wheels (maximum R-18);
- updated logo;
- stylish interior with an ash-tree finish.
The engine range of the new Kamiq will include 3 petrol engines, 1 diesel engine and a hybrid G-TEC (CNG) system. The powertrain capacity will vary from 90 to 150 HP.
The start of sales of this modification is scheduled for the summer of 2020. Prices, as well as possible configuration options, have not yet been announced.
Also in 2021, Skoda plans to bring the first mass-produced electric models to the world market, among which the most anticipated novelty will be the Enyaq crossover.
The luxury concept of the model (Vision In) was presented at the beginning of the year and attracted attention with a number of spectacular design solutions.
As expected, the production version of the new SUV will be less spectacular and futuristic. To evaluate the exterior of the novelty, which Skoda plans to launch a series in early 2021, you can use the model that passes road testing, although it is possible that some body elements will be different, because the manufacturer almost does not camouflage the tested model.
Analyzing the first live photos of the new product, you can see that the new Enyaq will be very similar in body shape to the Volkswagen ID.4, although it will receive slightly different bumpers and vyshtampovki.
Technically, the model will also be similar to an electric car from Volkswagen. For the Top version, they promise batteries with a capacity of 83 kWh, which provide the car with an Autonomous mileage of up to 500 km.
In car dealerships, Skoda electric crossovers will be available in early 2021, but what will be the company’s pricing policy for the first all-electric model is still unknown.
Following the updated models with classic petrol and diesel engines, Skoda plans to release a hybrid version of the flagship. Hybrid Skoda models should be available in late 2020 or early 2021.
The Octavia RS hybrid powertrain will consist of a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor. The manufacturer declares such characteristics of the new product:
- the battery capacity of 13 kWh;
- the total capacity of 245 HP;
- maximum speed-225 km / h;
- acceleration “to hundreds” — 7.3 s.;
- electric power reserve – up to 60 km.;
- full charge of the batteries from the mains – 6 hours.;
- Wallbox fast charging – 3.5 hours.
Previously, a similar bundle was installed on the Cupra Leon PHEV and Volkswagen Golf GTE.
While most automakers rely on crossovers, Skoda is planning to upgrade its line of sedans and station wagons in 2020 and 2021, offering customers models with hybrid powertrains as an alternative.
One of these new products will be a hybrid Superb iV.
From the basic models, which are quite popular in Europe and America, the novelty will be distinguished primarily by the technical characteristics of the hybrid power plant (1.4 petrol turbo engine + electric igniter), namely::
- total power – 215 HP;
- Autonomous driving – up to 55 km;
- battery capacity-13 kWh;
- full charge from the household network – 5 hours.
The price of the basic configuration (with a leather interior and a whole package of luxury options) will start from $39,000, while the charged version of the Sportline Plus will cost approximately $47,000.
Citigo e iV 2
While the eyes of motorists are focused on the brand’s new products in 2021, sales of the second-generation compact city car Skoda Citigo, which has now become an electric car, have successfully started in Europe. According to statistics, this small compact hatchback confidently surpassed in Europe the number of sales of competitors such as the BMW i3 and Renault Zoe.
Interest in the model is due to such impressive indicators:
- the battery capacity – 36.8 per kWh;
- Autonomous driving – 265 km;
- maximum speed-130 km / h;
- power plant capacity-82 HP;
- charging from the household network – 12.4 hours;
- fast charging (up to 80%) – about 4 hours.
Buy a compact urban electric car Citigo can be relatively inexpensive, because its price tag is significantly lower than $ 20,000.
Anyone who was looking forward to the new crossover Skoda Karoq, will be able to buy a car in the salons of America in 2020 and 2021.
The front-wheel drive version, designed for the American market, will receive a 150-horsepower turbocharged TSI powertrain with a volume of 1.4 liters. in conjunction with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
We already know the prices and configuration of new items, which were slightly lower than previously announced.:
- Ambition – 1 499 000 rubles.;
- Style – 1,673,000 rubles..
Until 2021, they also plan to release the next generation of the Skoda Fabia model.
There is very little information about the new product yet. Most likely, the model will be released only in the body of a 5-door hatchback, and the station wagon will remain in the past, giving up its niche to the new Kamiq.
It is known that the new generation of Fabia will be based on the MQB A0 platform, and under the hood will be placed one of the possible variations of 3-cylinder gasoline engines or soft hybrids.
The model will be available only with front-wheel drive, but you can choose between the classic “mechanics” and a more modern automatic transmission.
The company’s plans
In his speech, Bernhard Mayer promised to produce another 30 new Skoda cars by 2022, including at least 10 with innovative hybrid and all-electric power plants.
